Torsten Riemann
In times of great rejections in life, the composer, lyricist and musician Torsten Riemann sings about life, with all its reasons and abysses, about the longing for human closeness and, above all, he appeals to everyone to hold their head high. He's from here, straight up, the area between Berlin and Oder is his home, his place of inspiration. You will hear cheeky, sometimes cabaret-like, but also thoughtful and tender tones. Riemann's voice sings, whispers and screams into the souls of his listeners. On stage, constantly switching between piano, accordion and guitar, he develops the irrepressible energy that his songs also radiate. He masters ballads as well as salsa, tango and rock'n'roll. Riemann traveled to and sang about numerous countries on behalf of the Goethe-Institut (in no particular order): Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Morocco and Algeria.
